Curlett Jr. Appointed to Criminal Justice Act Panel for District of Maryland
Charles N. Curlett, Jr., an Associate in Saul Ewing’s Litigation Department and member of the White Collar and Government Enforcement Practice Group, has been appointed to the felony Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel for the District of Maryland.
The District of Maryland’s felony CJA Panel is limited to 100 lawyers in the state who represent, at reduced rates, indigent defendants accused of crimes when the Federal Public Defender’s Officer has a conflict of interest or is otherwise unable to handle the representation.
Curlett concentrates his practice in white collar criminal defense and general commercial litigation. Prior to his arrival at the Firm in 2006, Curlett served for over four and a half years as a Manhattan Assistant District Attorney. He had previously served in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia where he participated in the investigation into war crimes following the fall of Srebrenica.
Curlett received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his LL.M. from Leiden University’s Faculty of Law.
